how we have helped bereaved families in 2024
The Bodie Hodges Foundation are proud to bring you our first ever Impact Report!
The report highlights our continued commitment to support families bereaved of a child.
In 2024, we provided over 1,000 1-1 bereavement counselling sessions and saw an uptake in parents, children and young people attending our peer support groups.
Thanks to the unwavering generosity and commitment of our incredible supporters we have been able to continue to support families bereaved of a child.
The early days following the death of a child can feel lonely and isolating, and bereaved families can be given a lot of advice about how to feel and what to do.
As a organisation founded on lived experience we know that everyone grieves uniquely and so our service has helped the parents, children and young people we support to grieve in their own way.

OUR PLANS FOR 2025 AND BEYOND
Over the next year we will continue to support more families, helping them to rebuild and remember.
Looking ahead, we want to be able to increase our eligibility criteria to support families bereaved of a child aged 25 years and younger.
We will aim to recruit 2- 4 student counsellors in 2025 which we hope will enable us to have more capacity to then increase the age up to 25 years and younger for 2026/27.
This year we will be reviewing the services we provide for children and young people to ensure that it meets their needs and is timely to support their grief.
