Freddie’s Festive Fun Run

Our Annual Fun Run is back for 2023 and this year we are making some changes which we think will make you smile!#BeMoreFreddie

Freddie Orton was a huge fan of the Santa Fun Run which he took part in with his family every year up until his death in 2022.

Freddie’s Mummy was our Chair of Trustees when Freddie died and so the charity already played a big role in the family’s life and was already a very big part of Team Bodie.

Freddie was only 7 but he understood our mission and our values so well.

We also know that a huge number of tickets were bought to our 2022 Santa Fun Run in memory of Freddie and so in his honour, our Christmas fun run will now be known as Freddie’s Festive Fun Run.

Timetable

11.00am
Doors open to the public – Christmas stalls open

Registration/Santa hat and suit collection will be open for all participants.

11.00am – 12.00pm
Fire engine visit and meet Worry Bear Boo

12.20pm
All runners to congregate on the school field for the warm-up

12.30pm
Warm up will begin

1.00pm
Start of 1km event – runners will be placed into waves

1.30pm
Start of 5km event

2.00 – 3.00pm
Arrival of Santa and his sleigh

3.00pm
Event closes

car parking

Cars were going to be parked on the school field but due to the heavy rain, we are now advising you to park in the below public car parks to avoid anyone becoming stuck!

Featherstone Drive, LE10 2PW – Approx. 50 cars free public car park about a 400m walk

69 Hinckley Road, Burbage, LE10 2AF – Approx. 20 cars free public car park about 300m walk.

There is also on street parking on the roads surrounding the school but please avoid parking on St Catherine’s Close.

The Bodie Hodges Foundation would be hugely grateful if you could raise a small amount in sponsorship for this event.

We would love it if everyone who is taking part could fundraise just £8 to help to ensure we can continue to support bereaved families.

£8 could help us provide a Worry Bear Boo to a bereaved sibling.
